Importantly, you don't have to be getting married here. If your ceremony or reception is at another Hunter Valley wedding venue, winery or chapel, Hunter Farm can become the base for the rest of your weekend.
Welcome everyone as they arrive, stay together in Pokolbin, enjoy dinner or drinks, give guests plenty to do during their free time, then come back together the day after the wedding.

First, guests check in, settle into the Hunter Valley and meet for welcome drinks, dinner or an informal get-together. Those arriving earlier can explore Hunter Farm, taste wine or book an experience.
The wedding day
Next comes breakfast, some free time and then the main event. Your wedding can be at Hunter Farm or at another wedding venue, winery or chapel elsewhere in the Hunter Valley.
One more get-together
Finally, bring everyone together again for breakfast, lunch or drinks. Guests who aren't rushing home can stay longer, enjoy an activity or spend another day exploring Pokolbin.

What can we do the night before our Hunter Valley wedding?
Keep it relaxed. For example, welcome drinks, an informal dinner or a family get-together gives everyone somewhere to meet as they arrive in Pokolbin. At Hunter Farm you can bring everyone together for drinks, dinner or simply a casual catch-up before the wedding celebrations begin.
Can we use Hunter Farm if our wedding is at another Hunter Valley venue?
Absolutely. Your ceremony and reception do not need to be at Hunter Farm. Instead, you might be getting married at another winery, resort, chapel or wedding venue in the Hunter Valley and use Hunter Farm for welcome drinks, a pre-wedding dinner, accommodation, guest activities or your day-after gathering.
Where can we have pre-wedding drinks in Pokolbin?
Hunter Farm gives you several options depending on how organised or informal you want the gathering to be. For example, guests can meet casually for drinks at 4 Pines at the Farm, or Katie can help arrange a dedicated area for your group.
Can we book a private space for a pre-wedding dinner?
Yes. There are several possibilities at Hunter Farm. For a smaller gathering, the private dining room at Barrel Bistro can accommodate around 20 guests. Alternatively, for other group sizes and styles, Katie can discuss the Gazebo, Gallery Annex and our different function rooms.
Do our pre-wedding drinks need to be a formal private event?
Not at all. If you want something very relaxed, family and friends can simply meet and mingle at the bar. Alternatively, you can reserve a dedicated space so your group has somewhere of its own. Ultimately, it depends on your guest numbers and how you want the evening to feel.
What outdoor or undercover spaces can we use for our group?
The Gazebo is an undercover space set within the garden and can work beautifully for a relaxed group gathering. Meanwhile, the Gallery Annex provides another dedicated option, while Hunter Farm's function rooms give Katie more flexibility for different group sizes and styles of event.
What can we do the day after our Hunter Valley wedding?
The day after can be as simple as getting everyone together again for breakfast, lunch or drinks. Afterwards, guests who want to stay longer can enjoy wine, food, farm and adventure experiences at Hunter Farm, or simply relax and spend a little more time together before heading home.
Where can we hold a wedding recovery in the Hunter Valley?
Hunter Farm in Pokolbin can be used for a relaxed post-wedding gathering even if your wedding was held somewhere else. Depending on your guest numbers, you might meet for food and drinks, reserve a dedicated area, use one of the function spaces or keep things completely informal.
Can our wedding guests stay together at Hunter Farm?
Yes. Staying together makes a destination wedding much easier. In addition, guests can meet for breakfast, walk to food and drinks, enjoy experiences during their free time and spend more time with one another throughout the weekend.
What can our wedding guests do between events?
There is plenty to do without you having to entertain everyone. For example, guests can choose from experiences including Wine Theatre, Wine School, cellar-door tasting, grape stomping, Cooking School, Segways, archery, axe throwing, laser target shooting, barrel rolling and horse experiences.
Do we have to organise and pay for activities for all our guests?
No. You don't have to organise every minute of the weekend. Instead, guests can have free time and choose selected Hunter Farm experiences that interest them. As a result, that gives family and friends plenty to do without adding another list of things for you to organise before the wedding.
What can guests who don't want an activity do?
Nothing complicated. They can have a drink at 4 Pines at the Farm, enjoy a meal, visit Hunter Farm Cellars, spend time with family and friends or simply relax. After all, a wedding weekend does not need to be scheduled from morning to night.
Can we turn our Hunter Valley wedding into a three-day celebration?
Yes. A simple format is arrival and welcome drinks on the first day, the wedding on the second day and a relaxed recovery gathering on the third. Meanwhile, guests can add their own wine, food and adventure experiences around those key moments.
What if we only have a small group before or after the wedding?
That is fine. You do not need a large wedding group to use Hunter Farm. For example, a smaller group might suit the private dining room at Barrel Bistro, which can accommodate around 20 guests, while other spaces can work for different numbers and styles of gathering.
Which Hunter Farm space would work best for our group?
It depends on your numbers and whether you want a casual drink, private dinner, garden gathering or something more structured. Options include 4 Pines at the Farm, the private dining room at Barrel Bistro, the undercover garden Gazebo, the Gallery Annex and Hunter Farm's different function rooms. Then, Katie can help match the space to what you have in mind.
