The guided Segway experience heads onto off-road tracks and trails through the property, including bushland, vineyard country and an old stock route dating back to the 1880s.
There are no city streets to negotiate. Instead, there is open country, Hunter Valley scenery, Brokenback Range views and the possibility of spotting kangaroos and other local wildlife.
It is a completely different way to experience Pokolbin and a great contrast to the food and wine experiences the Hunter Valley is famous for.
Never Ridden One?
First time on a Segway? That's part of the fun.
Most guests arrive having never ridden a Segway before.
Training is included at the beginning of the tour, giving you time to learn how the two-wheeled, self-balancing personal transporter responds before heading onto the trail.
Movement is controlled largely by shifting your body position. Lean forward to move forward and lean back to slow and stop.
Your guide leads the group, provides safety instructions and accompanies you throughout the experience.

Standard general-admission sessions are designed for smaller groups. Hunter Adventure Centre can accommodate larger numbers by adding guides, scheduling additional sessions or combining Segways with other adventure activities.
That makes Segways useful as part of a wider Hunter Valley conference, incentive or team program rather than requiring every delegate to participate at exactly the same time.

What should I know before a Segway tour?
Experience
No previous Segway experience is required. Training is included before the tour heads onto the trail.
What to Wear
Flat, enclosed shoes are required. Comfortable, weather-appropriate active clothing is recommended.
