What is grape stomping?
Grape stomping is exactly what it sounds like. Shoes come off, you step into an oak barrel filled with grapes and use your feet to crush them.
It is a playful connection with one of the most recognisable traditions associated with wine and grape growing, transformed into an interactive Hunter Valley experience you can enjoy together.
Our grape stomping experience is about participation, fun and making memories in wine country. It is not part of our wine production process.

Grape stomping is available at Hunter Valley Resort + Farm in Pokolbin, in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country. The experience can be booked on its own or combined with other activities at the Farm.
What happens during the grape stomping experience?
Shoes come off and participants step barefoot into an oak barrel containing grapes, where the grapes are crushed underfoot as part of the hands-on experience.
How long does grape stomping take?
Allow approximately 40 minutes for the Hunter Valley grape stomping experience.
Is grape stomping available all year?
Grape stomping is subject to grape availability, which can be affected by season and supply. Advance booking is therefore important so our team can confirm availability for your preferred date.

Can grape stomping be combined with wine tasting?
Yes. You can combine grape stomping with a visit to our onsite cellar door to taste our estate-grown Hunter Valley wines. Our grapes are grown on the property and the wines are made locally in the Hunter Valley, rather than vinified onsite.
